The Role of the University in Venezuela from an Endogenous Development Perspective

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to support, from a critical and reflective position (point of view), he problem of the role of the University in Venezuela in its relationship with the agents involved in promoting the development of its territorial environment, having as an aim the training and generation of human talent committed to the implementation of feasible projects in technology, innovation and their applications as levers for Endogenous Development. In this sense, an exploratory documentary research was carried out to identify the factors that might have an impact on the levels of technological dependence, economic growth rate and human development in its area of influence. As for the theoretical handled (managed) in the subject area, a complementary criterion of trends of thought in the areas of technology and society, development theory, complex systems, strategic planning, and their best practices in university

management was considered. On the basis of the results obtained, a proposal was recreated on the systematization of the elements involved in this social reality, configuring a network of relationships between the agents involved and the University, as to assess their levels of synergy based on the experiences in educational management for Territorial Development
